I saw two NASS members yesterday morning on Channels TV struggling to justify the allocation of N70b out of the palliative money to the NASS. One of them said the office allocated to him is not in a usable state. Does he mean that the former user vandalized the office? If so, should he (former user) not be compelled to make good his former office?
Assuming equal share to every member, each person gets N149.3m for infrastructure!
Can any of them tell us that he would have spent this kind of money renovating his office if he were a private businessman? I have been using my current office for over a decade, it has never been renovated and does not need any renovation now. It has only been properly used and maintained and it is still cute. No NASS member needs a more conducive working environment than me.
The picture created by this allocation is hardly consistent with belt-tightening required of Nigerians. A lot more needs to be explained to the people.
