Goodbye 2023, so hard a year
The younger generation may only have seen the ugly
So may have reference only within reference
My generation has seen it all; the good, the bad, the ugly
With well-developed shock absorbers
How hard could it ever get
The stresses have been quite much
From good times, to near hopeless times
What is still there to see?
In our faith, we are taught to give thanks
No matter the situation
So thanks be to God for bringing us thus far
With all the accompanying lessons
Thanks also to those who have made the journey eventful
