Coups d’état are essentially birthed by bad governance. Rather than fight bad governance, African leaders prefer to fight coups. Democracy does not guarantee good governance. It attempts (though not so successfully) to check dictatorship. It is often manipulated to jettison all the beautiful tenets of democratic rule in addition to the fact that some of its extents are simply not suitable for Africans at this time. It is not impossible to evolve a more effective system for African countries. The time is now.
