The thought of foreigners interfering in our national elections may have the capacity to elicit negative emotions. That is granted. But to what extent must they be allowed to grow? Boil over? Certainly not.
More so for a person occupying the office of the governor of a state. Having watched the sharp witted State Chief Executive speak on TV several times, I expected him to be more measured than what we saw recently.
Having blundered, I thought the safest thing to do was quickly admit it and tender unreserved apology to Nigerians and the international community. I am not aware he has done so. If correct, Mr Governor sir, you owe us an apology.
Its getting late. Don’t forget some people see you as a star governor and would have been pained by this blunder. One bad phrase at the wrong time can bring you several steps down.
