This herdsmen problem, sometimes adulterated, others cloaked, is simply sickening. No doubt it has become complicated, almost intractable, therefore cannot have a press button solution now. One thing I know for sure is that lack of foresight and commitment on the part of our leadership in the past decades brought us to where we are today.
A lot of wisdom and maturity on the part of federal and state governments is required to quickly calm things down while putting together a strategy for a permanent solution. Merely waiting for flashes to occur here and there and each time engaging in provocative verbal exchanges is the last thing we expect of our leaders. We should bear in mind that this problem may not be completely isolated from the general worsening security situation in the country.
