During a recent appearance on Channels TV, the DG of NAFDAC alleged that a visitation team made up of members of the National Assembly demanded bribe from her. This is an old practice well known by everyone including Mr President.
What do we do? Just sit and watch it as we have done most of the time? Of course not. But the timing of her claim is wrong (more than a year later), and I doubt if she has any evidence. The NASS members involved can demand proof or withdrawal of her claim.
My Take
Commendations to her for refusing to do their bidding. But she should have gone a step further and set them up as Otedola did to Farouk Lawan, whose case is still in court. True, the EFCC bungled the matter and Farouk Lawan may eventually not go to jail but the Nigerian society has not lost all: the accused has virtually gone underground since then out of shame.
More so, the boldness involved in committing such acts must have diminished, at least with the accused in this case. This is how to help make Nigeria great.
