Nigeria has never been a crime-free country or a corruption-free country. Perhaps some people expected it to be during the last elections. Though a good dream but unrealistic yet. I pray and hope that one day it will be. For now, we must grapple with the realities on ground.
If you compare the performance of the 2019 elections with the overall performance of the country, my judgement is that the 2019 elections have come out an astounding success. Don’t blow your tops yet! A few examples will surely calm you down.
Have you ever pushed files in government offices (state or federal)? Are you even supposed to push files in government offices? Have you ever participated in bidding processes at local, state & Federal government level?
Have you ever sought employment in a government establishment (especially the lucrative ones such as NNPC, CBN, etc)? Have you taken time to interview our students on what happens in majority of our universities? If you haven’t, wait until you do. If you have, you should have calmed down by now. Otherwise your doctor’s attention is urgently needed.
This is not to mention the performance of the Nigerian economy. And of course, the usual competition from behind Nigeria has always had to be identified with in many areas such as ease of doing business, security level, anti-corruption war, poverty level, etc etc.
