Hello Nigeria

My Nigeria

Where insecurity spreads like wildfire

Poverty soars like the eagle with evil flap

Corruption blossoms with pride

Crime soldiers on like never before

Educational system gasping for air

Healthcare system weeps endlessly

Like a motherless child

Power supply system on life support

As government inefficiency reigns supreme

And the NASS bleeds the country

Judges’ bank accounts house millions

Deposited by the hand of god

My country my country

Don’t you breathe last yet

I know this is beyond drip remedy

Intensive care unit is what you need

And the poor that can’t fly, suffer haplessly

In the hands of uniformed, armed revenue collectors

Our once highly rated military stalemated

By ill-trained criminals

Our border gatekeepers compete with oil magnates

In the display of affluence

While the entrepreneur’s back cracks

Under the weight of numerous loads

Buhari tried to discard his blundering coach

But the new level coach is not much different

It may take forever to get to the next level

My country my country

It is a case of emergency

We will never give up hope

Solution must be found

In God’s name
